Ourspeaker is Ian Waller
'Muck & Muscle'
For many family historians a railway or canal navvy was a
common occupation of our ancestors.
This talk examines the lifestyle they led, who they worked for
and how they evolved from the canal navigator.
The talk also suggests where we can find more information about them.
A full report on this talk will be in the next issue of Ryedale Roots
